The girl was raped for two days on Monday and Tuesday consecutively when she was playing at her accused cousin's house, who also lives in the same locality.
The matter came to light when the girl's mother noticed some physical problem with her yesterday. On being asked, the girl told the incident to her mother, after which the police was informed.
The girl's parents have alleged that the police initially refused to lodge a case. The case was registered only after strong protest by the locals.
