The 13-year-old, living with her father and visually impaired grand mother, was brutalised by Deonarayan Majhi, the 45-year-old accused yesterday when her father was not at home, Officer-in-charge of Seraikela police station, Vinod Kumar said.
Returning from duty soon afterwards, the girl's father Santosh Mahali found Deonarayan commiting the crime and thrashed him accompanied by villagers before handing over to the police.
Police immediately arrested the injured Manjhi and got him admitted to a hospital after a case was registered.
