The girl had gone to her private tutor's house near Haticherra tea garden in Borkhola area of the district on July 28 but was missing since then.
Her family members and neighbours had launched a search and stormed into the teacher's house who denied any involvement but the body was found buried in the garden near his house.
The teacher, Ajay Bauri, surrendered at the Malugram police outpost last night but denied his involvement in the incident.
