Minor girl raped-murdered, private tutor held

The body of a minor girl, allegedly raped by her private tutor, was found buried in a tea garden in Assam's Cachar district, police said today.
The girl had gone to her private tutor's house near Haticherra tea garden in Borkhola area of the district on July 28 but was missing since then.
Her family members and neighbours had launched a search and stormed into the teacher's house who denied any involvement but the body was found buried in the garden near his house.
The teacher, Ajay Bauri, surrendered at the Malugram police outpost last night but denied his involvement in the incident.

Cachar Additional Superintendent of Police Jagadish Das said investigations have been begun and they were waiting for the post-mortem report.
