abused by an unidentified man near here, police said today.
The victim hails from Nalla Sopara town in Vasai taluka of this district and the incident took place last evening.
Sub-Inspector A G Pawar of Tulinj Police Station said grandmother of the victim filed a complaint last night.
The girl was returning from tuitions with a male relative, who left her outside a shop and went inside to purchase some items.
Meanwhile, the accused dragged the girl and took her below the staircase of the building housing the shop and sexually abused her, according to the complaint.
An offence under relevant sections of the IPC and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act has been registered.
