The incident came to light when the minor, a kindergarten student refused to go her school located in Bhavani Nagar area here, Chakeri SHO S K Singh said.
On being asked by her parents, the minor alleged being assaulted by the 70-year-old school manager identified as Dilip Kumar, he said.
Angry over the incident, parents of the girl along with some relatives reached the school premises, caught the accused and began thrashing him yesterday.
Soon after news of the incident spread, a police team reached the spot and pacified the angry locals. The accused, however, managed to flee from the spot.
