Minor raped on Valentine Date

A Valentine's Day date turned out to be a nightmare for a girl who was allegedly raped by a youth in south Delhi's Malviya Nagar area today.
The accused, Irshad, a resident of Hauz Rani has been arrested for raping her neighbour, who would celebrate her 18th birthday tomorrow.
"The girl and Irshad knew each other. This morning, the victim who is a class 12 student set out from home for school but instead went out with the accused to celebrate Valentine's Day.
"They purportedly had intercourse during their meeting following which her condition deteriorated," said a police official.
Irshad then took the girl to Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya Hospital following which hospital authorities informed the police at around 3 PM, police said. The girl was later shifted to AIIMS.

The accused, who worked at a shopping mall, has been arrested and a case has been registered against him for rape and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, police said.
