Minz's strike seals title for Hockey Gangpur-Odisha

Ashish Anmol Minz struck a crucial goal in the second half as Hockey Gangpur-Odisha edged out Hockey Maharashtra 3-2 in a nail biting final to clinch the 4th Hockey India Senior Men National Championship (Division B) at Major Dhyan Chand Hockey stadium, here today.
Both the teams went all out from the very beginning of the match which led to a 2-2 score on board by the end of the first half.
There were attacks and counter-attacks in the close fight The first goal of the match was scored by Gangpur-Odisha's William Xalxo in the very first minute of the game to which Hockey Maharashtra's Captain Vishal Pillay replied with a goal in the 3rdminute.
Both teams went on defensive mode in the second half of the match and restricted each other from scoring any goals till Hockey Gangpur-Odisha's Ashish Anmol Minz managed to sneak in and strike the winning goal in the 52nd min to seal the title win.
Earlier, Mumbai Hockey Association Ltd defeated Namdhari XI 3-1 to finish third in the Division B of the championship.

Gangpur-Odisha 3 William Xalxo (1st min), Bikash Toppo (35th min) and Ashish Anmol Minz (52nd min) Vs. Hockey Maharashtra 2 Vishal Pillay (3rd min) and Vinit Kamble 29th min).
