Miraculous escape for 40 fishermen as oil tanker hits net

At least 40 fishermen on a traditional fishing boat had a miraculous escape after an oil tanker allegedly hit its net and other equipment off Kochi coast, officials said.
The fishermen, in their complaint to police, said all of them were thrown out to the sea under the impact. The net and other equipment worth Rs 18 lakh were severely damaged, they said.
Officials said the incident occurred five nautical miles off Kochi and that there were no causalities.
The oil tanker was coming to Kochi Port from Mumbai.
