"Homeland" actress Miranda Otto has been tapped to star on Fox's "24: Legacy", reboot of the network's popular series "24".
The show features an all-new cast of characters and will be structured in the same style of the original series, said The Hollywood Reporter.
"24: Legacy" revolves around a military hero's (Straight Outta Compton's Corey Hawkins) return to the US and the trouble that follows him back - compelling him to ask CTU for help in saving his life and stopping what potentially could be one of the largest-scale terror attacks on American soil.
Otto, 48, will star as Rebecca Ingram, the blazingly smart former head of CTU. Now married to Sen. John Donovan (not yet cast), she struggles with second thoughts about having left the counter-terrorism agency.
The part comes after Otto's series-regular role on Showtime's "Homeland" came to an end in 2015.
Manny Coto and Evan Katz will pen the script and executive produce "24: Legacy" alongside Teakwood Lane's Howard Gordon and Imagine TV's Brian Grazer. Stephen Hopkins will direct the pilot.
