Miscreants loot equipment from power sub-station in Bihar

Armed miscreants held hostage three employees at a power sub-station and looted parts of electricity transformers, official documents and Rs 5,000 cash at Islampur in Nalanda district of Bihar, police said today.
About 12 to 15 miscreants forcibly entered the power sub-station and took hostage three employees working there before embarking on a looting spree last night, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Hilsa Sub-divison, Parvinder Bharti said.
"The criminals had brought a truck with them. They dismantled parts of several newly brought transformers, loaded them on the truck and escaped. They also lifted official documents and took away Rs 5,000 cash," the DSP said.
The DSP said that the police had lodged an FIR and started investigating the case.
Raids were being conducted to nab the culprits, he said.
