As the branch of the Indian Bank located at Katra chowk, opened in the morning, around half a dozen armed miscreants barged into the bank and held the manager Pankaj Kumar and other staff captive before decamping with Rs 22.67 lakh from cash counter, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Amit Sharan said.
The miscreants also thrashed the branch manager and a customer, the SDPO said adding that they also locked the main gate of the bank branch from outside before decamping with the looted money.
