Miscreants loot Rs7.75 lakh from petrol pump

Unidentified miscreants have looted Rs. 7.75 lakh from a petrol pump in a village in Samastipur district, a police officer said today.
The incident took place last night at Teghraha village when some motorcycle-borne miscreants stormed into a petrol pump owned by one Sukho Sah and looted Rs 7.75 lakh from the cash box before making good their escape in darkness, Vidhan police station in-charge B N Prasad said.
The miscreants also fired at Sah, but he escaped with some injury, he said.

Meanwhile, armed miscreants looted Rs ten lakh from a
wholesale mobile phone dealer and Rs three lakh from an employee of a garment merchant in separate incidents under Town police station area in Katihar district, Superintendent of Police (SP) Sidharth Mohan Jain said.
The mobile phone dealer Pritish Kumar alias Raja, who runs a shop called Hello India, was on his way to the bank to deposit Rs ten lakh, when three motorcycle-borne miscreants intercepted him and looted a bag containing the cash at gun point before speeding away by firing in the air, Jain said.

The shopkeeper also fired from a licenced weapon, but the miscreants escaped unhurt, he said.
A case has been lodged in this connection and raids were on to nab the culprits, the SP said.
The incident sparked off a protest by the traders who downed shutters demanding arrest of the culprits.
In another incident earlier in the day, two motorcycle-borne miscreants looted Rs three lakh from one Arvind Kumar, an employee of garment merchant Nand Kumar Agrawal merely 50 m away from the premises of the police station, Jain said adding, Kumar was returning to the shop after withdrawing the amount from a bank located nearby.
