Bukhari filed his nomination papers before returning officer for Amirakadal constituency. He was accompanied by PDP chief spokesperson Naeem Akhtar.
Amirakadal constituency is going to polls in the fourth phase of elections on December 14 and will witness a multi-cornered contest. Besides Bukhari, National Conference provincial president Nasir Aslam Wani and BJP candidate Hina Bhat are also in the fray.
As Bukhari and his supporters were passing through Budshah Chowk area here, a group of youth started pelting stones at the motorcade, police said.
The miscreants reassembled later and started pelting stones at the security forces, the official said.
He said no one was injured in the clashes so far but normal life in the area was disrupted as the market closed and traffic was diverted through other roads.
