Central Bank employees, clerk Ritu Singh and collector Dipu Chandra Deka, were about to enter the United Bank of India branch in G S Road when two unidentified men rushed towards them and threw chilli powder in their eyes before snatching the bag containing the cash from them, they said.
Police have detained the duo for questioning even as they suspect foulplay behind the looting.
