"Congress is not a communal party but it does not believe in the kind of secularism we talk about. But there are people within the Congress who believe in democracy and secularism," he said.
"We have to strive to form a bigger platform with all these people in a bid to continue the struggle for democracy and secularism in the country," he said.
Speaking at a programme, Mishra said, "Former union ministers Jairam Ramesh and Mani Shankar Aiyar were different from other Congress leaders".
