Leader of Opposition Surya Kanta Mishra today sought an explanation from West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on the controversial Narada sting operation and asked why names of so many TMC leaders have come up in corruption cases in last few years.
"Whenever she makes a speech, she brings in the comparison of 34 years of Left Front rule. But have you ever seen leaders or ministers of our government getting arrested by CBI in corruption cases or seen accepting bribes," Mishra told a poll rally here.
"Never has a single minister or leader been arrested or accused in corruption cases (during LF regime). A minister is arrested by CBI in a scam, while so many ministers, MPs are seen accepting bribes. We seek an explanation from the Chief Minister," he said.
TMC Minister Madan Mitra is in jail after his arrest in December 2014 in connection with the Saradha chit fund scam.
