Ruling BJP MLA and film actress Angoorlata Deka raised the issue during Zero Hour and alleged that the cancellation was a conspiracy against Assamese film industry by certain quarters.
Deka regretted that the film was not being allowed to be screened in that multiplex when Assamese movies are bagging national and international awards and recognition.
She demanded that screening of Assamese films be made compulsory for hall owners in the state.
Cultural Affairs Minister Naba Kumar Doley said it was found in an enquiry that disagreement between the multiplex owner and the film's producer was the reason for cancellation of the premier show.
