Mistry makes first public appearance in Jamshedpur

Cyrus Mistry today made his first public appearance here after taking over the reins of Tata Sons as Chairman in December last year by participating in the 174th birth anniversary celebrations of Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata, the founder of the country's biggest conglomerate.
Mistry, accompanied by his predecessor Ratan Tata, Tata Steel Managing Director H M Nerurkar and a host of senior officials paid floral tribute to the great visionary, who paved the way for the development of an industrial India over a century ago.
Mistry and Tata also interacted with the company workers.
Later, a spectacular pageant was taken out by various departments of the company, as well as associated companies and social organisations, with attractive tableaus to mark the occasion.

Addressing the gathering at Postal Park in Bistupur, Mistry said it was a great honor for him to pay homage to the founder of Tata Steel.
In his maiden public address, Mistry said fulfilling the dreams of the founder would be his priority and he would continue to maintain the values and ideals propagated by Jamshetji.
Appreciating the well-maintained steel city, the Chairman said the city would remain important for the company, since it had its first steel plant here.
