Land availability is no longer a major hindrance for the development of industry in West Bengal, state's Industry Minister Amit Mitra said today.
"Land is no longer a problem. The West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation has 3,236 acres of land within its 23 industrial parks located across the state," Mitra said at the 'Business@Bengal' roadshow organised for overseas companies here.
He said the state government would be keen to facilitate availability of land in these parks in a most transparent and efficient manner.
For large projects, he urged the investors to look at places like Raghunathpur in Purulia, Panagarh in Burdwan, Kharagpur and Goaltore in West Midnapore.
Mitra, who also holds the finance portfolio, said that the state government had already appointed relationship managers for large projects who would act as a liaison between the investor and the government officials.
He said the state had the most attractive industrial and incentive policies, besides separate policies for MSME, textiles and IT hardware.

Mitra said in the last two-and-half-years after the Trinamool Congress came to power, tax collection had increased substantially and this fiscal this was expected to go up by 40 per cent.
He also urged the industry to mentor polytechnics and adopt ITIs.
The roadshow was organised by Non-Resident Overseas Association of Bengal and Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Representatives from overseas groups like Lulu of Dubai, Safari Group of Qatar, Quality Group of UAE among others were present at the meet.
