Globally, industrial metal copper futures strengthened in early trade after a sharp rebound on Wall Street helped calm investors hit by worries over China's faltering economy.
Nickle rose by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 815 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 810 and copper utensils scrap gained Rs 4 per kg to Rs 371 as compared to Rs 367 previously.
Copper wire bar and brass utensils scrap moved up by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 433 and Rs 298 as against Rs 431 and Rs 296 respectively and copper sheet cuttings inched up by a Re per kg to Rs 388.
Lead and copper armiture softened by a Re per kg each to Rs 124 and Rs 393, respectively.
