Mixed day for Indian squash players

India's top doubles pair of Joshna Chinappa and Dipika Pallikal began their campaign on a positive note with two Pool league wins on the opening day of the WSF World Doubles Squash Championship here on Monday.
The top-seeded Indian pair defeated Malaysia's number one pair, the Arnold sisters Delia and Rachel and then followed it up with a win over Australia 2 which comprises Sarah Cardwell and Christine Nunn.
The mixed doubles also brought good news for India with Joshna and Harinder Pal Sandhu being one pair and Dipika and Saurav Ghosal, the second seed, the other.
The reverse for India came in the men's doubles where Harinder Sandhu and Ramit Tandon lost two matches to Australia 1 and Colombia 1.

Men's doubles Pool A: Australia 1 bt India 1 (Ryan Cuskelly and Cameron Pilley bt Harinder Pal Sandhu and Ramit Tandon 11-6, 11-6) ; Colombia 1 bt India 1 (Andres Herrera and Juan Camilo Vargas bt Harinder Pal Sandhu and Ramit Tandon 8-7, 11-7, 11-10)
Women's doubles: Pool A: India 1 bt Malaysia 1 (Joshna Chinappa and Dipika Pallikal bt Delia Arnold and Rachel Arnold 11-7, 11-10); India 1 bt Australia 2 (Joshna Chinappa and Dipika Pallikal bt Sarah Cardwell and Christine Nunn 11-8, 11-8)
Mixed doubles: Pool A : India 2 bt Malaysia 1 (Joshna Chinappa and Harinder Pal Sandhu bt Delia Arnold and Sanjay Singh Chal 11-9, 10-11, 11-10); Pool B: India 1 bt Malaysia 2 (Saurav Ghosal and Dipika Pallikal bt Rachel Arnold and Mohammad Syafiq Kamal 11-7, 11-4); India 1 bt Wales 1 (Saurav Ghosal and Dipika Pallikal bt Peter Creed and Tesni Evans 11-8, 5-11, 11-5).
