The state annual budget amounting to Rs 6,770.79 crore, presented in the Assembly by the state finance minister Lalsawta on the first day of the session was passed during the session.
The assembly also passed four government bills and one amendment bill, including the Mizo Marriage, Divorce and Inheritance of property Bill, 2014 and the Mizoram Lokayukta Bill, 2014 during the course of the session.
A private resolution from opposition Mizo National Front (MNF) member Lalruatkima condemning racial attacks against people from the north east in some parts of the country was adopted by the legislature after a slight modification while another private resolution seeking improvement of 'bad roads' in the state, moved by K. Beichhua of the MNF, was, however, rejected.
