Mizoram CM inaugurates Fire Prevention Week

Mizoram Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla today said forests in the state continued to be ravaged by fire despite concerted and coordinated efforts made by the government, NGOs and the church.
Human beings have to co-exist with wildlife and forests, he said inaugurating the Fire Prevention Week here.
State Environment and Forests minister Lalrinmawia Ralte said fire incidents in the state was the highest in the country and one third of forest fire in the north east region occurred in Mizoram.
The theme for this year's Fire Prevention Week was "Ram tikangtu-Ram hmelma' or forest fire starter is the enemy of the land.
