Saidan Secondary School of Mizoram was on Thursday crowned Under-14 boys champions of Subroto Cup International Football tournament after defeating Unique Model Academy of Manipur 2-0 in the summit clash here.
It was the Mizoram school's maiden title win in the tournament.
B Romalsawma and Hunmawia scored the goals for the Mizoram school in the sixth and 43rd minutes.
The first half started with some fierce exchanges. It was the Mizoram school players who showed their attacking intent and scored the first goal in the 6th minute through B Romalsawma.
In the 23rd minute, the Mizoram side earned a penalty when, reaching out for an aerial ball, the Manipur goalkeeper committed a foul on an opposition player.
The penalty was taken by Mizoram's star player of the tournament and captain Hunmawia but the Manipur goalkeeper Bijando saved it.

In the second half, Mizoram captain Hunmawia scored in the 43rd minute from open play. It was Hunmawia's 14th strike of the tournament as he became the highest scorer.
Unique Model Academy of Manipur had won the title last year.
The Mizoram school took home the winners' prize purse of Rs 3,00,000 while the runners-up team from Manipur pocketed Rs 1,75,000.
The Best Player Award, carrying Rs 50,000, went to B Romalsawma of Saidan Secondary School, Mizoram while the Best Goalkeeper award, also of Rs 50,000, went to Bijando of Unique Model Academy, Manipur.
