MLA's gold chain allegedly stolen at eye camp

A gold chain of Congress MLA from Karera seat, Shakuntala Khateek, was allegedly stolen during an eye camp here today, a police official said.
"A gold chain weighing around three tolas was stolen when the MLA was inspecting an eye camp that she had organised near her house," Karera Police Station In-charge P P Mudgal said.
Shakuntala informed the Sub-Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) about the theft, following which a search operation was launched across various check points in the city.
Though the MLA has not officially filed any complaint with the police in this regard, the latter initiated the action based on the information provided by the legislator.

Shakuntala alleged that the incident took place as police did not provide adequate security at the camp.
