"Mumbai Metro One (MMOPL), through a tie up with the largest private sector bank ICICI and State Bank of India and its subsidiary SBI Card, has launched combo card (that) will enable commuters to have one card to act as both debit/credit card and metro smart card," a release issued here said.
The facility will be available in the entire Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) system of all the 12 stations on the Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar corridor.
Through this service, commuters will be able to pay from more than 50 banks through internet banking, debit cards and credit cards for online recharge.
"The combo card facility is a leap towards the unified card system in urban transportation, launched for the first time in the city. The commuters will enjoy more seamless travel experience as it will save their time from queue and avoid hassle of recalling the balance of the value stored in their cards," MMOPL spokesperson said.

The amount reloaded will be deducted from the credit card account or bank account linked with the card in the back end, the release said.
The company said prior consent of applicants will be obtained by the banks and credit card issuer for this facility before the issuance of this card.
"Travelling cost through the combo cards will be similar to the metro smart cards and the commuters will avail similar discounts however the users of the combo cards can also enjoy loyalty points from the ICICI, State Bank of India and SBI Card as per the reward structure that may be applicable," the spokesperson added.
