MMRCL seeks bids for metro car depot works at Goregaon

The project is expected to cost Rs 23,000 crore

To expedite the construction of 32.5 km Colaba-Bandra-Seepz underground metro corridor, the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRCL) today invited bids for development works at the metro car depot in Goregaon suburban.

MMRCL is the implementing agency for the ambitious project which is expected to cost Rs 23,000 crore.

It has invited bids for three different 'civil and development' works, a release issued by Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority said here.

The first contract worth Rs 109.8 crore is for construction of boundary retaining wall, RCC storm water drain, ground development and other works at the car depot which are to be completed in 24 months.

The scope of the second contract, valued at Rs 7.88 crore, includes construction of a 3-story playback training room building and is expected to be completed in 18 months.

The third project, worth Rs 11.64 crore, involves diversion of 1,200 mm and 600 mm diameter water supply lines and is expected to be completed in 18 months.

The Colaba-Seepz metro corridor will have 27 stations; 26 underground and one at ground level at Goregaon.

These 27 stations are: Cuffe Parade, Vidhan Bhavan, Churchgate, Hutatma Chowk, CST Metro, Kalbadevi, Girgaon, Grant Road, Mumbai Central, Mahalaxmi Metro, Science Museum, Acharya Atre Chowk, Worli, Siddhi Vinayak, Dadar Metro, Shitaladevi Temple, Dharavi, BKC Metro, Vidya Nagari, Santacruz, Chhatrapati Shivaji Airport (Domestic), Sahar Road, Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Marol Naka, MIDC, SEEPZ and Goregaon, the release said.
