All government offices, educational institutions and shops and business establishments remained closed in Aizawl and seven district headquarters as the bandh paralysed normal life in the state.
Aizawl district Superintendent of Police L R Dingliana Sailo said no untoward incident was reported and the situation remained peaceful because of tight security.
The state capital wore a deserted look with no vehicle, except those carrying sick people to hospitals, plying on the roads.
MNF organised the bandh to pressure the Health Minister Lalrinliana Sailo to resign for his alleged involvement in drug smuggling through the drug licence of his under-aged son.
