Mob sets buses on fire over killing of milk vendor in Hisar

A milk vendor was shot dead allegedly by six assailants in Sadalpur village here, triggering violent protest by locals who set on fire two Haryana Roadways buses today and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits.
According to police, the incident took place under Adampur Police Station when six assailants came in a car last night to a milk shop owned by Vijay Kumar.
Two of the attackers first slapped Kumar and then fired at him. However, Kumar escaped unhurt and the bullets hit Vinod Kumar, a milk vendor, who was working in the shop, they said, adding, the assailants fled from the spot after the incident.
Following the incident, irate villagers today blocked roads and stopped two Haryana Roadways buses on Bhana road and set them ablaze, police said.
The protesters demanded arrest of the culprits, they said.
SP Satender Gupta along with heavy police forces reached the spot to take stock of the situation.
The body of the deceased has been taken into custody.
A case under section 302 (murder) has been registered against six persons and one of the them has been detained for interrogation, police said.
