The Vidarbha Joint Action Committee (VJAC) has decided to hold a mock Assembly session in Nagpur on December 5 and 6 to press for the separate Vidarbha demand.
Former MLA and VJAC convener Wamanrao Chatap told this to reporters here today.
A meeting of VJAC, comprising 38 parties and organisations favouring Vidarbha statehood, was held here when the decision to hold a mock assembly session was taken.
"We have decided to conduct a mock Assembly session of Vidarbha state at Nagpur on December 5 and 6. We shall appoint Governor, Chief Minister and the entire cabinet, including the Leader of Opposition and all the 62 MLAs for the separate Vidarbha state," Chatap said.
"The two-day mock session will function as per the norms of the state assembly, we will also pass a mock budget," Chatap said.
The committee has also decided to block the entire coal supply from the mines of Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) in Ghugus area, during the forthcoming Winter Assembly Session of state in Nagpur.
"We have also decided to block the coal supply from WCL mines in Ghugus region on December 12 to draw the attention of both Union and State governments towards the long pending demand of separate Vidarbha," Chatap said.
They demand that the Union Government should pass the bill in the next Parliament Session declaring Vidarbha as separate state without further delay.
