The Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) has finalised all the required modalities for providing helicopter services for this year's edition of the annual pilgrimage to the holy cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas.
SASB Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Umang Narula today briefed Governor N N Vohra, who is also the chairman of the board, about the measures taken in respect of the helicopter services during a stakeholders meeting here yesterday.
Narula said that pilgrims had been advised to get heli- tickets only from authorised heli-operators or their authorised agents and not to fall prey to unscrupulous elements who may mislead them into buying fake tickets.
"The details of the agents authorised by the heli- operators to issue tickets is available under the link - heli-operators - on the SASB website," he said.
He said in coordination with the Indian Air Force and the heli-operators, the shrine board has made the required arrangements for undertaking immediate air evacuation of pilgrims who fall sick or are seriously injured during the 'yatra'.
Vohra advised Narula to keep a close watch on the functioning of the authorised agents and take immediate action of de-registering them if any complaint against their functioning is found to be true after enquiry.
