"Tomorrow, I will move an application seeking cancellation of anticipatory bail granted to Paraskar because on August 19, a man visited me and initially offered money on behalf of Paraskar. Later, he threatened me," the model's advocate Chitra Salunke told the court today, which was hearing a complaint of perjury made by the model, alleging that Paraskar had made a wrong statement in the court about her.
"After he came in, he began talking about Paraskar's case. I have recorded his conversation and there are also closed circuit television (CCTV) images," Salunke said.
Salunke said that, initially, he told her that Paraskar had offered her Rs 10 lakh for not appearing in the case on behalf of the model. Later, the man threatened her.
Allegedly, he said that Rs 10 lakh is an "initial offer", from Paraskar which could be "raised", Salunke said, adding that she went to the local police station and registered a case of intimidation against the man.
"Why would Paraskar threaten somebody after anticipatory bail has been granted? It is an attempt to cancel his bail and take him into custody," Merchant told PTI.
