Moderate rainfall in West Bengal

Most of the places in West Bengal along with Kolkata today received moderate rainfall as the temperature remained comfortable, the met department said here.
During last 24 hours, rainfall occurred at most places in Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, Cooch Behar, Malda, Bankura, Birbhum, Murshidabad, Nadia, Hooghly, East and West Midnapore and North 24-Parganas districts.
In North 24 Parganas Dum Dum recorded 22 mm of rainfall in the last 24 hours, Basirhat 31 mm and Barrackpore 27 mm, while other parts of the state also received moderate rainfall.
The maximum recorded temperature in the state was at Digha in coastal East Midnapore where the mercury touched 33.7 degrees celsius, followed by 33.1 degree at Sriniketan, 32.8 degree at Bankura, 32.6 degrees celsius at Diamond Harbour in South 24 Parganas district.
The weatherman has forecast generally cloudy sky with rain or thundershowers at many places in the state. There is forecast for heavy rain in Darjeeling and Jalpaiguri in north Bengal till tomorrow morning.
