Moderate to heavy rainfall in Bihar

Moderate rainfall occurred at most places of Bihar while heavy rain was reported from a few places in the north-east and north-central parts of the state.
Patna received 6.8 mm of rainfall this morning, while Gaya received 0.2 mm and Purnea received 0.4 mm of rainfall, the Met Department said.
Bhagalpur registered the maxmimum ranifall of 48 mm among major cities between 8:30 am to 5:30 pm today, it said.
However, in the past 24 hours, Patna registered 15 mm of rainfall while Gaya recorded 64.4 mm.
Purnea registered a maximum rainfall of 76.8 mm among major cities during the same period, the weatherman said.
Bhagalpur recorded only 5.2 mm rainfall, as compared to the heavy rains later today.

In its forecast for next 24 hours, the department has predicted major cities -- Patna, Gaya, Bhagalpur and Purnea are likely to witness generally cloudy sky with light rains.
Rains in the morning not only brought down the day's maximum temperature of Patna to 31.5 degree Celsius but also provided a much needed relief from the humid conditions.
While Gaya recorded its maximum at 31.4 degrees Celsius, Bhagalpur registered 29.2 degrees Celsius. Mercury in Purnea settled at 31.3 degrees Celsius.
The maximum humidity level in the morning ranged between 88 to 98 per cent in four major such as Patna, Gaya, Bhagalpur and Purnea, even as the evening humidity level ranged between 76 to 97 per cent.
