Addressing a party rally here at which Rahul Gandhi was also present, Siddaramaiah alleged the countrymen's hopes during the 2014 Lok Sabha polls were belied and Modi did not fulfil the promise to deposit Rs 15 lakh into every individual's account out of the recovered black money stashed abroad.
"It will not be wrong to say that Modi betrayed the people of the nation who went by his words," he said.
The economy of the country had totally collapsed under Modi's government,he claimed.
The state has suffered a crop loss of Rs 25,000 crore and 139 taluks were reeling under drought, he said.
"We have fulfilled almost all promises we made during the previous Assembly elections in 2013 and hence we will come to power in the state," he added.
