"The BJP-led NDA government has failed to boost the economy and accelerate growth. It had promised to provide two crore jobs per year. By this count 4 crore jobs should have been created by now," AICC spokesperson Sushmita Dev told reporters here.
However, as per the official data of Labour Ministry, only 1,34,000 jobs had been created during the last two years, which happened to be the slowest pace of job creation since 2009, she said.
She further alleged that the Vyapam scam in which more than 76 lakh people were duped in Madhya Pradesh, people saw Rs 36,000 crore PDS scam in Chhattisgarh, Rs 43,000 crore mining scam in Rajasthan and Rs 206 crore Chikki scam in Maharashtra.
Accusing Modi government of helping corporates and big business houses at the cost of people, the MP from Silchar in Assam said BJP regime allowed alleged defaulters like Vijay Mallya and Lalit Modi to leave the country.

Though the country faced severe drought, the Modi government failed to take concrete steps to tackle it and as a result many farmers were forced to commit suicide in different parts of the country, Dev said, accusing BJP of going back on its promises on minimum support price (MSP).
Hitting out at NDA over foreign policy, she said foreign policy remained inconsistent and illogical as the government remained "inept and incompetent."
The country also witnessed gross misuse of power in Uttarakhand and Arunachal Pradesh during Modi government which functioned in an autocratic way, she claimed.
