The Narendra Modi government has expressed its commitment during the last four years for increasing the income of farmers through its various schemes, Uttar Pradesh Cabinet minister Shrikant Sharma said today.
The Centre has also increased the minimum support price for crops from this year, the state power minister said while inaugurating the 'Gram Shakti Diwas' here.
Sharma said Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath wants the 'Tahsil Diwas' to take form of a 'Sampurna Samadhan Diwas' to resolve the problems of the people including those related to ration cards, Aadhaar, pension schemes and various certificates.
He said the Centre's schemes such as the Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme to counter natural calamity and the Soil Health Card scheme for better use of fertilisers show the government's commitment towards farmers.
