Though the appointment of BJP president was "an internal affair of their party, but appointing Amit Shah as the party chief has raised many questions", the CPI Central Secretariat said in a statement here.
Maintaining that Shah was "still an accused" in the fake encounter cases of Sohrabuddin Sheikh and Tulsi Prajapathi, it said the enquiries and cases were still pending and "the ruling party at Centre appointing a person with controversial background will not send right signals to the nation".
Regarding the appointment of "five BJP leaders as governors of different states", the CPI said "This is the continuation of Congress culture of rehabilitating its own party leaders, who cannot be accommodated otherwise."
"This is politicisation of governors posts, which is a bad precedent," it added.
