Listing virtues of one year of Narendra Modi government, Union minister of state and BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi today said good governance has depressed the "loot lobby" and "champions of corruption."
"During past one year, the Modi government's steps to close down the shops of middlemen and power brokers has depressed the loot lobby and champions of corruption. Such people have formed an unholy nexus against the transparent and performing Modi government and they are trying to derail development agenda," Naqvi said addressing BJP workers in two districts.
His comments were an apparent attack on Congress and its associates like RJD and JD(U).
Eulogising about the completion of one year of Modi government, Naqvi, who is Union minister of state for Parliamentary and Minority Affairs, said the government took several initiatives for uplift of poor and downtrodden.
"While the Congress gave a government which was neck deep in corruption and did not bother about the common man. Modi government has given an effective, transparent, hard working government which is committed to empowerment of the poor," Naqvi said drawing a comparison.
He took potshots at the JD(U) and RJD for trying to cobble up an impractical alliance.
"Such people who are supporting Congress are trying to form so called 'Janta parivar' in Bihar to obstruct the development process of NDA...These people have no janta and they have only parivar," he said.
Attacking Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar, Naqvi said he betrayed the mandate of crores of people of Bihar and trying to form an alliance with Lalu Prasad "responsible" for backwardness of the state.
