Modi guarantor of corporate houses: CPI(ML-Liberation)
Press Trust of India Ranchi CPI(ML-Liberation) today accused Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi of favouring private companies at the cost of common people's interest.
"Modi had assured Tata that there would not be a Singur- like situation in Gujarat for its Nano project...It was a clear message that he would be a guarantor of the interests of large corporate houses," party's Central Committee member Swapan Mukherjee told reporters here.
"Modi has a new face now: corporate guarantor. After the 2002 riots, his image has been of a fascist," he said on the second day of the party's ninth congress here.
A press release on the second day's deliberations has also criticised Modi.
"We must clearly understand that Modi today is an icon of not just aggressive communalism but also of unbridled corporate rule in a police state. Struggles against communal terror, corporate capital and state repression are all inextricably linked in Modi's brand of politics and must be effectively combated," the release said.
