NCP leader Tariq Anwar today claimed that Narendra Modi has been "foisted" by RSS on BJP as Prime Ministerial candidate and said the Gujarat Chief Minister is unlikely to succeed as he "does not have capability" to take all communities along.

"Modi is not BJP's choice for Prime Minister's post but has been foisted on it by RSS," the NCP general secretary told reporters on the sidelines of a function.

"In India, only a leader who has the capability to take all communities along could lead, but Modi does not have that in him," Anwar, who is Union Minister of State for Agriculture, said.

When asked that Modi had drawn big crowds in rallies in Rewari and Hyderabad, Anwar said "these are managed. Crowd does not come on its own but is brought to the venue."

On the possibility of a Third Front, he said "no prospect of its birth before general elections is visible now. However, it is difficult to predict the post-poll scenario," he said.

On chances of Nitish Kumar forging an alliance with the UPA, he said the JD(U) leader would have to take some decision after breaking away from the NDA, but denied that NCP had made any efforts to reach out to him.

When asked that UPA is yet to declare its prime ministerial candidate, Anwar said being the largest constituent, Congress was free to take a decision.
