Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today hailed Narendra Modi-led NDA government's performance in the past one year, saying he has done "wonders" in a short span of time which the Congress "could never do even in two decades."
"Modi has done wonders in a short span of his tenure, which the Congress could never do even in two decades," he said here.
"The miracles done by the Prime Minister for transforming the destiny of the country and its people within a year could never be done by the Congress party even in more than 20 years," the CM said.
Congratulating the PM for the "successful completion" of one year in office, Badal said, "Under his visionary and dynamic leadership, the prestige and honour of the country has enhanced across the globe during last one year."
Today, India has emerged as a global superpower in the world due to which every Indian, including the NRI brethren, is feeling proud of themselves, Badal said.
Praising Modi-led government, the Punjab CM said that during last one year, the NDA government has launched several pro-poor schemes like Jan Dhan Yojana, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao, Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana, Prime Minister's Bima Suraksha, Atal Pension and Pradhan Mantri Jeewan Jyoti Bima Yojna for ensuring the welfare of the common man.
He said no government at the Centre has ever initiated such pro-people schemes in a short span of one year.
