BJP PM candidate Narendra Modi today showered praise on party nominee from Tehri Lok Sabha seat Mala Rajya Laxmi Shah, saying she attended on people hit by the last year's calamity like a "true royal" whose heart aches for her subjects.
"She is a Rajmata in the true sense of term. She attended on people hit by the tragedy like a mother attends on her children. She kept running from one door to another to enquire after people who lost their homes or near and dear ones," Modi said in praise of the scion of the erstwhile Tehri royal family at a huge election rally at Herbertpur in Vikasnagar area near here.
He also praised BJP workers at the grassroots in general for helping others at the time of the calamity.
Shah who is the sitting MP from the seat is pitted for a second time against former chief minister Vijay Bahuguna's son Saket on the high profile seat which she had wrested from the Congress in a bypoll in October 2012 defeating the former CM's son by over 20,000 votes.
This was Modi's second poll rally in Uttarakhand after being declared party's PM candidate.
He addressed his first in Dehradun on December 15 last year.
