Punjab and Haryana High Court here has taken suo motu cognisance of a letter written to it regarding the Moga bus molestation case in which a teenaged girl died after being allegedly thrown off a bus.
Taking note of the letter sent to it, the high court directed that it be placed before a bench.
As per the high court cause list, the letter will come up for hearing before the division bench of Justices Satish Kumar Mittal and Harinder Singh Sidhu as against the state of Punjab and other respondents.
The victim, who was cremated today, was pushed off a moving bus on Thursday along with her mother after they resisted molestation attempts. The bus belongs to Orbit Aviation, the company owned by relatives of Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal.
