"I was more close to Moonmoondi. She gave me tips on acting, shared her experience. With Suchitra Sen's health conditions worsening during that time, she shared anecdotes about her mom.
"And in your first film to share the credits with Moonmoon Sen and as part of one the three tales with none other than Raima Sen. Can you ask for more," Pujarini, also starring in a more substantial role in Chitra, a film on women abuse, told PTI.
"I am lucky to be the female protagonist in a film like Chitra which draws references from real life attacks on women in Bengal in recent times. And despite being in a smaller role, I am lucky to be chosen by Moinak in the beautiful collage of three stories in retro-hued Kolkata Calling, easily relatable by our audiences," she said.
"Me, Samrat and Raimadi are in one story of the film, while Moonmoondi and Riya are part of another. But at the end of the day, the audience will see your character as much as others. So you have to hold ground," she said.
"In Chitra, as I said I could identify with the character as all of us, every woman, is stricken by the same sense of insecurity these days. My mom calls up every now and then to get updates. I know I am safe and protected when I am in shooting locations, in the company of my own people, but when I am alone on move I ponder over a step as I apprehend about my safety. When you strongly feel about something, it reflectsd as you give shots," she said.
