Moldova's prime minister has resigned after questions arose about the authenticity of his high school and university degrees.
Chiril Gaburuci, 38, announced his resignation Friday after he was questioned late yesterday by prosecutors about his studies.
"I regret that questions about my studies have become an instrument of political games," said Gaburuci, who has made no comment about the substance of the allegations.
Gaburuci heads a pro-European government that relies on the Communist Party. The former businessman became prime minister in February.
