Actress Monica Dogra took to the ramp on day five of the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week for designer Kanika Saluja as she displayed her spring-summer collection inspired by female sexuality.
Donning a midnight blue-orange embellished gown, hair styled in a long braid teamed with an ornate headgear, the 31-year-old 'Dhobi Ghat' actress looked every bit like a warrior princess as she glided down the runway amidst loud cheers.
"I love the collection and especially what I am wearing. It is both feminine and strong. It made me feel like a woman who can do anything she desires. The strong shoulders, structured silhouettes and flowy skirts reflect both femininity and strength," Dogra said after the show.
The collection part of Saluja's label Anaikka, had a range of silhouettes - capes, pantsuits, gowns, dresses, peplem blouses teamed with lehengas, harems and sarees.
The colour palette was vibrant with the usage of hues like pista, orange, maroon, brown, teal, blue with a sumptuous use of metallics in the hemlines, shoulders and busts.
"My collection is about about celebrating female sexuality and kamasutra. Through this collection I want to showcase that its time women assert their place in the society," Kanika said.
