Rajasthan Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Govind Sharma today directed officials to effectively monitor expenditure of candidates for the September 13 bypolls to four assembly constituencies.
At a meeting with officials of Income Tax and Excise departments, airport and banks, the CEO directed to conduct proper monitoring on suspicious movements, cash transaction, supply of illegal liquor and to initiate appropriate action.
The CEO laid stress on checking supply of illegal liquor in Surajgarh constituency in Jhunjhunu which shares border with Haryana.
Meanwhile, no nomination was filed in any of four assembly constituencies -- Surajgarh, Weir, Nasirabad and Kota South -- on the second day of nomination today.
The last date of filing nomination is August 27, scrutiny will be on August 28 and the last date of withdrawal of nominations is August 30, the CEO said.
Bypoll to the constituencies were necessitated after the sitting MLAs were elected to Lok Sabha. BJP legislators Sanwar Lal Jat, Om Birla, Santosh Ahlawat and Bahadur Singh Koli represented Nasirabad, Kota (South), Surajgarh and Weir Assembly constituencies, respectively.
