Haryana government today said it was alert and continuously monitoring the level of water in rivers, as moderate to heavy rains lashed several places in the state.
Rains pounded parts of Haryana, including Narnaul, Yamunanagar, Ambala, Hisar and Gurgaon, even as the MeT department predicted more rains over the next few days in the state.
"Rainfall is being monitored every hour and its information is being provided to officers concerned of Meteorological, Irrigation and Disaster Management Departments," state Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Capt Abhimanyu said.
He said in case of heavy rainfall in neighbouring Himachal Pradesh, its impact in Haryana would also be assessed to prevent loss to life and property.
Notably, the catchment area of Yamuna river recorded heavy rains during the past few days.
At Hathni Kund barrage, a water level of 1.06 lakh cucecs was measured on Saturday night. The barrage had recorded water levels up to eight lakh cucecs three years back.
