Monsoon remains active over UP, rains in eastern parts

Light to moderate rain and thundershowers were recorded at most places over eastern Uttar Pradesh as Southwest Monsoon remained active over the state.
According to the Met department, chief amount of rainfall was recorded at Attara (18 cms), Baheri (17 cms), Baberu (11 cms), Naraini (9 cms), Banda, Rae Bareli (8 cms each), Mirzapur, Fatehpur and Sahaswan (7 cms each).
It said rain and thundershower are likely at many places over the state tomorrow.
It has warned of likelihood of heavy rains at isolated places over the state tomorrow.
